SKI HONEYMOON IN PAGOSA SPRINGS, COLORADO
Dave and I have decided on a ski honeymoon in Pagosa Springs, Coloardo. We will be staying at a rental home described as a "3,500 sq. ft. executive home built in 1996 is nestled on a mountain ridge and close to town, yet secluded on 22 acres with some of the most spectacular views you will ever see. This home offers privacy, breathtaking views, wildlife and much more, while being only 4 miles to shopping, restaurants, golfing, and lake activities."
We plan on getting in 3-4 days on the slopes, snow showing right out our back door, enjoying frisbee games in the snow, enjoying home cooked meals next to a roaring wood fire place, playing games of scrabble, snuggling on the couch to a good movie, and reading a good book. We also will unwind after a long day on the mountain at the hot springs, and I plan to get a massage or two.

Garbanzo Grill - (Vegan Comfort Food)
From vegweb.com: This is an informal take-out stand with very tasty vegan food. All of the menu is 100% vegan unless you add cheese! The owner, john, puts a lot of love and care into his food and specializes in seitan from scratch. Try his nondairy, lowfat mac & cheese, his veggie burger, and gryo. All yummy goodness! Garbanzo Grill is open Monday through Friday from 12noon to 6 pm, and Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm. You can find the wagon at 197 Navajo Trail Drive, between Boss Hoggs and the Native Travel Garden Center. For menu, map and directions, visit their website. Alley House Grill - (Fusion) From tripadvisor.com: BEST MEAL OF THE VACATION From living in the Napa Valley for 25 years where food and wine are legendary and being a winemaker here I traveled to Pagosa and thought I would have to wait to go home for a decent dining experience... I found The Alley House Grille. I was pleasantly surprised and meeting the owners, Todd and Kelly, with their gracous hospilitality and restaurant expertise, became a believer that there is fine dining and INCREDIBLE food presented with flair, intelligence, and panache. I wholeheartedly recommend this dining establishment to any "foodie" or those in search of a memorable dining experience. 214 Pagosa Street Pagosa Springs, CO 81147 Reservations Recommended: 970-264-0999 |
565 Grill - (Asian)
From chefMoz.com: A small, delightful retreat where you can go and relax, know that the service and food will be excellent and enjoy your favorite beverage and drink without dressing up, feeling pushed or slighted - whether a local or guest, you get the first class treatment right from the start. 565 Village Dr Pagosa Springs, CO 81147 (970) 731-3677 Elkorn Cafe - (Southwestern) From tripadvisor.com: I consider myself a food snob, so I was pleasantly surprised my the breakfast at the Elkhorn Cafe. I visited about 4 years ago and had a not so good lunch. After reading the reviews on Tripadvisor.com I decided to give another try. Boy was I glad I did. Love the stuffed sopapilla & huevos ranchero! You get to choose hot or mild green chili sauce that they smother both with. They also allow you to choose between a two or three egg omelet which I really liked. The beans they serve with breakfast are great & a nice change. I usually stick with what I know, so the rest of the menu I'm unsure about, but looks to be fine and a good value. |
